Franklin County Clerk’s Office Donates Prize to Charity
The Franklin County Clerk’s office participated in an annual competition selling recycled license plate birdhouses to raise money for Kentucky’s Veterans homes. The birdhouses are produced by Letcher County Clerk, Winston Meade, and are sold in county clerks offices throughout the Commonwealth. The proceeds for the sales are donated to Hope for Veterans charity which distributes the money to Kentucky’s Veterans homes. This money is used to help provide shelter and other services to our Veterans. The Franklin County Clerk’s Office sold the most birdhouses this past year and was awarded a $500 cash prize. The staff voted to donate the money back to the Veterans fund.
When asked about the donation Franklin County Clerk, Jeff Hancock, said:
“This is a perfect opportunity for us to give something back to those that have served our country.”
